The Mall of the Emirates is the largest shopping mall in Dubai, and in fact the largest mall outside of the USA. However this is not your run of the mill shopping centre. The mall of the Emirates is home to Ski Dubai, the world’s first indoor alpine village. When the temperatures are 50ºC outside, what better way to cool down than to head to the 400M ski slope or have a snowball fight in the snow park.
When the extreme sports are over, you can eat in one of the many restaurants and then return to the shopping, in any of 4 themed sections. Classical Greek, Italian, Moorish and Arabic sections are available to add to the shopping experience.
Location: Just off Sheikh Zayed Road, halfway between Jebel Ali and Dubai City centre.
Eating/Drinking: If you can't find what you fancy in the 65-plus cafes and restaurants try the Mall's huge Carrefour hypermarket.
Other activities: If you ever tire of Ski Dubai then you can always try the rides at Magic Planet, the region's largest indoor amusement park that also features ten-pin bowling and bumper cars.
