Ibn Battuta Shopping Mall, Dubai
One of the recent additions to the Dubai shopping scene is the Ibn Battuta Shopping mall. It truly is enormous - so large that it sells itself as not one mall, but a collection of six! When the mall opened in 2005, despite its size there was queuing throughout! The mall contains 6 mini malls each with
a theme based on the travels of the 14th century explorer Ibn Battuta. You can shop in China, India, Persia, Egypt, Tunisia and Andalucia, all under one roof.
The mall is 2 kilometres long and for the weary shopper, you can grab a shuttle along the length of the mall to help not waste too much energy carrying heavy bags. |

- Location: Just south of Sheikh Zayed Road, near the Gardens.
- Eating/Drinking: There are 43 cafes and restaurants, some of which mirror the six themes.
- Other activities: Ibn Battuta is home to the largest cinema complex in the UAE with its 20-screen 'Megaplex' and the regions first IMAX theatre.
